Mr Coghlan holds a Bachelor of Laws degree obtained from the University of Melbourne and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia and is also a qualified mediator.

He has a wide range of understanding of legal and commercial issues developed over 25 years experience of legal practise including 7 years as a partner in a city practice. Mr Coghlan has a focus on dispute resolution through both the litigation and mediation processes together with a strong sense of commitment to the legislative framework within which the financial services industry operates.

Mr Coghlan has also been involved in numerous community activities and committees and sees La Trobe Financial as a valuable corporate member of our society.

Mr Coghlan is also Chairman of the groups Audit & Risk Committee ("ARC")
